The Hub Resource Center

Through a partnership with the HUB OC and the City of Orange we will be helping to meet the needs of our homeless population at the HUB Resource Center so that they too can live life to the fullest.

CURRENT SERVE OPPORTUNITIES:

1. PRAY

A great way to support the HUB Resource Center is to keep it in your prayers.

• Pray at home: You can make the HUB Resource Center something you pray about when you’re alone, with your family or even at meals
• Pray over the site itself: Come to the site and go on a prayer walk - around the entire area
• Coming soon: Prayer cards to help you in your personalized prayer time

2. BUILD A HOMELESS CARE KIT

Another way you can take part in the HUB Resource Center is to build Homeless Care Kits and drop them off at Friends Church Orange.

Details: Place the following items into a 1 Gallon Ziploc Bag:

• Water bottle
• Wet wipes
• Toothbrush/Toothpaste
• Single serving snacks (trail mix, nuts, crackers, dried fruit, soft granola bars, etc.)
• Tuna and cracker packs
• Utensils
• Tissue/Kleenex
• Encouraging note from your family
• Optional Items: Socks, Band-Aids, reusable bottle/mug
• Please avoid: Cash, hand sanitizer, mouthwash, used items, religious literature

3. SERVE ON SITE

There are opportunities available at the HUB Resource Center, which is open MON-SAT from 8A-3:30P. Here are a few in-person opportunities you can get involved in:

‍

• Help serve meals
• Work at one of our stations (check-in, showers, laundry, restrooms, cell-phone charging, etc.)
• Provide relationships through sitting at a meal time, discussing day to day issues, mentoring, and providing continuum of care for our patrons at the site.
• Cleaning, trash pick up, other hospitality services
• Be a part of volunteer teams for medical, dental, veterinarian services (training available)

4. HELP PROVIDE IMPORTANT SERVICES

The HUB Resource Center includes the obvious things like Care Kits, showers and laundry. But it also provides important services we take for granted - like medical care!

We would love to be able to provide these services:

• Medical/Healthcare/COVID
• Vision
• Dental
• Veterinary Care
• Hair Cuts
